Incidentally, “free speech” refers to government not censoring or retaliating against political speech. Even in countries that have extensive speech rights, private publishers like Quora are permitted to have editorial control over what is published on their platforms and to enforce codes of conduct.
Quora’s moderation is handled almost exclusively by software now, but it actually enforces far fewer Quora policies than the human moderators did prior to 2022. The software seems to be focused on spam links and adult content.
